Wind-uplift resistance of single-ply roof systems installed over existing metal panel roof systems is of primary concern when reroofing a metal building. ASTM E1592 testing was performed on multiple test roofs using a 10 ft x 20 ft full-scale test chamber. The tests consisted of mechanically attached TPO with different fastening patterns over flat stock and flute fill polyiso over 24” wide structural metal panels. The results and analysis of the testing will be presented. In addition, there are further concerns, such as drainage and live loads that are relevant, and these will also be discussed at length.
