Moisture within roof assemblies has become a major focus of discussion. Despite the disruption to projects this issue causes, there remains significant misunderstandings regarding concrete, field moisture tests, and just how long it takes concrete “to dry”. This presentation discusses common terms associated with concrete that are often misused, identifies the various sources of roof system moisture, and gives recommendations as to how the various sources can be proactively addressed.
